Meet Dan Seibert
Dan is a SLED-certified Private Security Firearms Instructor, and a Concealed Weapons Permit Instructor. He is also an NRA-certified Chief Range Safety Officer, and an NRA-certified Instructor for Pistol, Defensive Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle, Personal Protection In the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, and Refuse To Be A Victim. He has instructed both individuals (private lessons) as well as church groups.

Sharon is an NRA-certified Instructor for Pistol and Refuse To Be a Victim. She has instructed many ladies individually and in small groups.
Our Mission
Upstate Carry exists for the purpose of teaching South Carolina residents the principles of firearm safety; informing them of federal and state laws about owning, carrying, and using firearms; helping them to obtain a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit; and training them in case they need to defend themselves or their families.

This course is approximately 7 hours in length. Instruction is divided into two sections: 1) Federal and state law (as well as court cases) dealing with the Second Amendment, concealed carry, self-defense, and the use of deadly force; and 2) firearm safety, operation, nomenclature, and marksmanship. This course is approximately 7 hours in length. Instruction is divided into two sections: 1) Federal and state law (as well as court cases) dealing with the Second Amendment, concealed carry, self-defense, and the use of deadly force; and 2) firearm safety, operation, nomenclature, and marksmanship. Students will also qualify with their firearm (on a separate day). Students must pass both their written exam and their firearm qualification with at least a 70%.

The NRA Defensive Pistol Course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. This course teaches the principles of concealment, drawing from a holster, levels of mental awareness, personal protection, clearing common stoppages, and more.

This class teaches strategies people can integrate into their everyday lives to avoid becoming a victim of crime. This is not a firearms instruction course. Seminars teach common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow. The seminar includes crime prevention strategies including home security, cyber safety, use of personal safety devices, and situational awareness.

This personal instruction is tailored to meet the needs and experience of the student -- including firearm safety, operation, elements of marksmanship, and an analysis of the student’s shooting technique.
